Lasagna that's Healthy But Doesn't Taste It



Who doesn't love a steaming hot serving of cheesy lasagna. Fear not, we've got you covered on a healthy version that doesn't skimp on the taste.


Makes 9 Servings


Ingredients:

1 box of whole wheat lasagna noodles

2 lbs ground turkey

10 oz non-fat cottage cheese

2 cups mozzarella

1 cup Parmesan

4 garlic cloves minced

1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes

1 TBSP basil

1 TBSP parsley

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper


Directions:

Cook ground turkey on stove top until brown. Drain off grease and set aside.


In cooking pot add crushed tomatoes, garlic, basil, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook for 15 minutes on low heat.


In 8x10 cooking pan put a thin layer of tomato sauce. Top with thin layer of ground turkey.


Add a thin layer of cottage cheese, then a thin layer of mozzarella, and a sprinkle some Parmesan.


Repeat process until all ingredients are used up. Top final layer with cheese.


Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 375 degrees F. for 30 minutes.


Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.


Top with parsley as garnish.
